Fraser studies Horticulture Level 3. During his course, he had the opportunity visit and work at RHS Wisley where students were tasked with collecting plants as part of a project sponsored by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
“I dried, stored and catalogued them, making a portfolio for each one that included details such as their height and spread.”
Specimens collected by Fraser and his classmates will be preserved at the RHS Herbarium for years to come. As well as a truly rewarding experience, the collection contributed towards Frasers plant portfolio for his college assignment and afforded him valuable work experience with a real-life employer.
Fraser notes: “RHS Wisley is known internationally, so my experience here will look great on my CV and help me get a job in the future.
“I felt really lucky that I had the chance to come and see this amazing place and work here.”
