Thursday 28 September 5 - 6:30pm: your last chance to secure a space!!
Go further in your career with an employment focused HNC/HND programme.
Higher National Certificates (HNCs) typically take one year to complete if studying full-time or two years part-time and are generally equivalent to the first year of university. After your HNC, you can continue your studies by progressing to a Higher National Diploma (HND). A HND is equivalent to the second year of university and is a work-related course.
HNCs and HNDs are specifically developed for the world of work so are highly valued by employers and can lead directly to employment in a specific area. They can also be used to gain professional status in your current career.
Depending on the subject you study, they can offer a great route to a higher qualification. HNCs and HNDs can often be ‘topped-up’ with extra studies at a later date, converting them to a Bachelor’s degree. Some HNCs can be used as entrance to the second year of a degree course while some HNDs allow direct entry to the third year.
HNCs are great value for money. If you are just starting out or switching careers, an HNC can give you relevant experience and skills without having to pay out for a degree. If you are in employment, your employer may pay for part or all of your training. See our Fees and funding page to see if you qualify for help with funding.
