Working alongside Level 3 Travel and Tourism students, you’ll gain the essential skills needed to thrive in this competitive industry.
You will meet like-minded people, all interested in the industry as a whole, and gain excellent customer service skills that are transferable to any job in the future. You will also get experience in interviews and the techniques used to work independently, for self-study, and you’ll build excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work on group projects, planning, and events.
This course focuses on tour operators, holiday centres, tourist attractions, hospitality, and aviation.
You’ll have access to excellent IT facilities, a world of resources, and the opportunity to see the industry first hand.
What you'll learn
Through college-based study and a two-week work experience placement in a travel and tourism organisation, you will develop core skills in communication, project management, and studentship. These skills will make you more employable and enable you to achieve Level 3, should you choose to progress.
How you'll learn and be assessed
To complete this course, you must be organised, self-motivated, and diligent. It will involve elements of self-study and teamwork.
The qualification is run in conjunction with robust GCSE English and GCSE Maths courses to enable students who wish to work in the travel and tourism sector to gain knowledge and skills in customer service, geography, and business.
Entry requirements
You need to have 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English language and maths.
