We are pleased to share an opportunity for students aged 18–30 to take part in a pilot research study taking place at City of Oxford College and University Centre.
Supporting this research, into potential biological links to mood disorders, is part of our commitment to support student and staff wellbeing.
A pilot research study into potential biological links to mood disorders
One of our employer partners, Neuro-Bio, a biotechnology company focused on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, is currently investigating potential biological links to mood disorders, including depression.
Their early research suggests there may be a relationship between the T14/Tau protein ratio (measured using a simple nasal swab) and mood disorders in young people aged 18–30.
Who can take part?
- Students aged 18–30
- Staff aged 18–30
Participation is entirely voluntary.
When and where?
City of Oxford College and University Centre
- Monday 9 March, 11.30am–5pm
- Monday 16 March, 11.30am–5pm
Please report to Reception on arrival.
Students must ensure that participation does not clash with lessons, exams, or other commitments. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover travel expenses.
What will happen on the day?
Participants will:
- Receive and read a full participant information sheet
- Have the opportunity to ask questions before signing a consent form
- Provide a quick nasal swab sample (similar to a COVID-19 test)
As a thank you, all participants will receive a £10 Amazon voucher.
