Reading College is holding three Mental Health online sessions for parents and carers during 15-18 May.
Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place from Monday 15 May 2023 – Sunday 21 May 2023. This is a nationally recognised week organised by the Mental Health Foundation to end the stigma surrounding mental health and spread awareness to the community. This year’s theme is anxiety.
Charlotte Morgan, Designated Mental Health Lead for Activate Learning, is holding three information sessions for parents and carers during Mental Health Awareness Week and would like to invite you to attend.
These sessions will last for 40 minutes and will take the format of a 20-minute training session covering key information on each topic, myth busting, and sharing helpful strategies to support your children. This will be followed by a 20-minute Q&A session on the session topic and more broadly on mental health.
The sessions will all be free of charge and held on Microsoft Teams, they will take place at 10am covering the following topics:
- Monday 15 May 2023 – Session 1: College Support
- Wednesday 17 May 2023 – Session 2: Understanding and Supporting Anxiety (supported by CAHMS Clinician, Amanda Mavunga)
