Banbury and Bicester College Football Academy have formed a new partnership with Easington Sports Football Club.
The partnership aims to create a clear pathway into senior football for students at the college, strengthen community links and offer learners the opportunity to play regular non-league football alongside their studies.
The Football Academy Programme at Banbury and Bicester College offers students the opportunity to combine their education with a high quality football development environment.
The programme is designed for students who are passionate about football and want to develop their performance, fitness and understanding of the game, while continuing their studies.
Kirk McGinn, Football Academy Team Lead at Banbury and Bicester College, said: “We are delighted and excited to be working alongside Easington Sports Football Club as we launch this new academy partnership.
“This collaboration will provide aspiring local footballers and sports professionals with the opportunity to represent the club while studying on our sports coaching programme.
“The partnership will open up exciting pathways into rewarding careers across the sports industry, whether through progression to university or directly into employment after completing the programme. It will also offer learners the possibility of playing regular non-league football alongside their studies.
“This opportunity strengthens the provision we already offer to both football and non-football sports students. It will help develop our learners as professional, enterprising and resilient individuals, building their confidence, practical experience and employability skills so they are prepared for the world of work and higher education.”
