This month, Activate Learning Online is celebrating a big milestone. We’ve supported 10,000 enrolments on our online courses since 2019 and want to say thank you to all those who have chosen to learn with us over the years!
Activate Learning’s online offering traverses a wide range of topics, including arts and crafts, academic courses, professional courses and skills for life.
Our award-winning Learning Philosophy is at the heart of our approach to teaching and learning, as we recognise not everyone learns in the same way or has had positive experiences of education.
That’s why we use tried and tested principles to engage students and help learners make the most of their time with us, lending them both the knowledge they’ll need for their career, and the personal skills that’ll benefit them for their whole life.
We offer two types of online classes:
- Self-directed sessions, where you learn from recorded videos and other resources to further your knowledge.
- Live online sessions, where you meet with tutors and fellow learners virtually, with support of further materials shared through our online learning environment.
What are the benefits of online learning?
Online learning has revolutionised how adults engage with education, acting as a positive disruptor to promote engagement. Some of the benefits of our online courses include:
Flexibility
With Activate Learning Online, you can enjoy innovative learning and assessment methods that help you develop at your own pace.
The vast majority of our higher education programmes offer part time study options, while full time programmes tend to require the equivalent of two days study a week. Both allow you the time to balance your studies with work and other responsibilities.
One online learner recently commented:
“I enrolled to enhance my knowledge and skills in a flexible way that fits around my other commitments. I’m currently pursuing further education, so this course offered a great opportunity to deepen my understanding in a specific subject area.
“The flexibility of online learning was a major factor. It allows me to learn at my own pace, manage my time more effectively, and study from the comfort of home, which is ideal alongside my other responsibilities.”
Personalised support
Everything we do is to help you succeed. No matter where you want to get to or where you are starting from, we want to help you achieve your ambitions!
Our online programmes zoom in on the emotional and motivational aspects of learning by providing constant feedback, timely responses and a supportive community.
Accessibility
Activate Learning are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for everyone. We are continually striving to improve the user experience, and tutors can support a wide variety of learning difficulties and disabilities.

For whatever reason, many people struggle to achieve a grade 4 (C) in English GCSE the first time around – and we understand the many ways that not holding this qualification can affect you.
With a 100% pass rate and success rates that are much higher than the national average, our GCSE English Online programme offers a flexible option.
Specifically designed so that you begin with the basics, then move gradually to more complex material when you are ready, this online course is perfect for fitting around other commitments, whether you’re working full-time or caring for family.
Plus, if you do not have a minimum grade of 4 (C) in English GCSE, you may be able to study this course for free.
If a lack of a Maths GCSE is holding you back, we get it. We know that many people struggle with maths, and the wide-ranging impacts this can have on your life.
Thankfully, helping you through your maths journey is our area of expertise, meaning that our courses have been specifically designed so that you begin with the foundations before taking on more dynamic material.
Just like our GCSE English Online course, this programme is uniquely flexible, meaning that you can fit it in around other life commitments.
