Banbury and Bicester College is celebrating the success of its T Level students, with learners achieving excellent results and progressing into employment, higher education and further training.

Students studying T Levels at the college have demonstrated the value of combining classroom learning with substantial industry placements, developing the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in their chosen careers.

T Levels are two-year technical qualifications designed in collaboration with employers to prepare students for skilled employment, apprenticeships or higher education. Equivalent to three A Levels, T Levels combine classroom learning with a substantial industry placement, enabling students to develop the technical knowledge and practical skills required by industry.

Hannah O’Neill, Group Director of Academic Studies at Activate Learning, said: “We are immensely proud of all our students receiving their T Level results today.

“These achievements are a testament to the hard work, determination and resilience our learners have shown throughout their studies, and we are delighted to celebrate this important milestone with them.

“Behind every result is an extraordinary story. Many of our students have overcome personal and educational challenges, demonstrated remarkable perseverance and achieved outcomes they can be truly proud of.

“Whether they are progressing to university, apprenticeships, employment or further study, our learners leave us with the skills, knowledge and confidence to take their next steps successfully.

“Our teams will continue to be available to support students requiring advice as they explore their options, including university clearing, apprenticeships and alternative progression pathways.

“I would also like to thank our exceptional teachers, leaders, support colleagues and employer partners. Our staff care deeply about what they do and are committed to helping every learner realise their potential. Their expertise, encouragement and dedication play a vital role in making these achievements possible, and we are proud to celebrate alongside them today.”

Students celebrated success in T Level in Management and Administration and T Level in Education and Early Years, with both subjects achieving a 100% pass rate.

This year marks the college’s first graduating cohort in Management and Administration and its second in Education and Early Years. The Education and Early Years pass rate increased by 25% on last year and was 3.4% above the national average, while Management and Administration was 5.5% above the national average.

Chloe Rawlins achieved a Distinction grade in T Level in Education and Early Years and has secured a place at Oxford Brookes University to study a degree in Primary Teacher Education.

She said: “I could not have asked for better teachers during my two years at college. They showed so much support and care for our future goals.

“My course placement in a primary school gave me lots of confidence and independence. It was great meeting so many new people with different experiences to tell.”

Tiegen Jenkins achieved a Merit in T Level in Education and Early Years and now plans to go to university to study a degree in Children and Young People’s Nursing.

She said: “Being treated as a young adult rather than just a student is what really made college stand out, as well as having an amazing support network of tutors who provided guidance and encouragement along the way.

“I am aiming to work as a Paediatric Nurse in the Neonatal Unit in the future, however I am excited to see where university may take me.

“My course has provided me with a range of transferable skills and knowledge. My work placement helped me gain skills such as teamwork, communication skills and overall confidence.

“I think a T Level course is a perfect stepping stone from classroom learning to employment. The placement helps ease you into the workplace and feel comfortable when applying to jobs.”
